Whey is a CO-product of the cheese making process. Out of 10 pounds of milk the Swiss cheese maker produces one pound of cheese and nine pounds of whey! The whey used to produce Swiss Whey D'Lite® is pasteurized, but not homogenized. (Some health experts question health aspects concerning the homogenization of milk).

Whey proteins rank among the highest quality proteins available in foods. They have been used by body builders for years to produce strong muscles. Swiss Whey D'Lite® has less over all protein than nonfat milk because the casein proteins (which can be allergenic) have been removed, leaving only the easily digested whey proteins.

The expected shelf-life is the amount of time the product is expected to remain in excellent condition when stored in a cool dry place. It is not an expiration date and the product may last longer or shorter depending on the climate it is stored in. Swiss Whey D'Lite® packaged in #10 Ultra-Long Term cans is an excellent choice for milk food storage or back-up emergency preparedness.
